Privacy Policy for NetPlus+

This Privacy Policy explains how the NetPlus+ mobile application ("NetPlus+", "the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. NetPlus+ is a network diagnostics and utility app (speed test, ping, traceroute, DNS tools, port scanner, Wi-Fi analyzer, LAN/IoT scanning, SSH terminal, and related tools) for Android.

1. Summary

NetPlus+ does not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or other directly identifying personal information.
Test results and history (speed test, ping, packet sender) are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us.
Some tools send data you enter (an IP address, domain, or MAC address) to third-party lookup APIs so the tool can function - see Section 4.
Credentials you enter for the SSH Terminal tool (host, username, password, or private key) stay on your device and in memory only, and are sent solely to the SSH server you connect to - never to us.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

NetPlus+ has no user account system and no backend server operated by us. We do not collect or have access to:

Your name, email address, or phone number
Your precise real-world location history (see Section 3 for why location permission is requested)
Your test history, saved hosts, or SSH credentials (these stay on your device)

3. Permissions the App Requests, and Why

Permission	Purpose
Internet / Network State / Wi-Fi State	Required for every network tool in the app - speed test, ping, DNS, port scanning, etc.
Change Wi-Fi State / Change Wi-Fi Multicast State	Needed to scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks and to send/receive multicast (mDNS/SSDP) traffic in the Multicast Tester and LAN scanning tools.
Location (Fine / Coarse)	Android requires location permission before any app can read Wi-Fi network names (SSID/BSSID) or scan results, even though NetPlus+ does not use this permission to track your whereabouts. It's only used to power the Wi-Fi Analyzer and Nearby Networks scanner.
Background Location	Only used if you enable scheduled/background Wi-Fi monitoring; if you never enable that feature, it has no effect.
Foreground Service	Keeps a long-running speed test or ping monitor session active and visible to you while it runs.
Wake Lock	Prevents the screen from sleeping mid-speed-test so results aren't interrupted (only while a test is actively running, and only if you've enabled "Keep Screen On" in Settings).
Post Notifications	Used for optional alerts (e.g. threshold warnings from Ping Monitor). You can deny this without losing core functionality.
Receive Boot Completed	Lets scheduled background monitoring resume after you restart your device, if that feature is enabled.

4. Third-Party Services Used by Specific Tools

Certain tools work by sending the specific value you enter (an IP address, domain, or MAC address) to a third-party API in order to return a result. No other data about you is attached to these requests beyond what's inherent to making an internet request (e.g. your IP address, as with any web request).

Each of these third parties has its own privacy policy governing how it handles requests it receives.

5. Data Stored On Your Device

Speed test results, ping history, and packet sender history are saved in a local database on your device only, so you can review past results. This data is never transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time from Settings → Clear History, and it is removed automatically if you uninstall the app.

If your device has Android's automatic backup enabled, this locally stored data may be included in your own Google account backup, subject to Google's backup policies - it is still never sent to us.

6. Data Security

Because NetPlus+ doesn't operate a backend server or account system, there is no central database of user data for us to secure or that could be breached on our end. Network requests made by the app's tools (SSH, HTTPS-based lookups, etc.) use standard encrypted protocols where the underlying protocol supports it.

7. Children's Privacy

NetPlus+ is a general-audience network utility app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us using the details below and we will address it.

8. Your Choices

You can deny or later revoke any permission in Android Settings → Apps → NetPlus+ → Permissions; tools that need a specific permission will simply be unavailable until it's granted.
You can clear all locally stored history at any time from within the app's Settings screen.
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as new tools are added to the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
